Restore the Look of Your Teeth: Restorative and Oral Surgery by Experienced Professionals in Hamilton
Restorative Dentistry
During our lifetime, our teeth may become discoloured, decayed, chipped, cracked, or fractured due to trauma. This is when oral surgery can help. Dentists can usually restore them to look as they once were, and sometimes look even better than they were before. And, with bonding, it is even possible to make crooked teeth look straight. See our Before & After dental treaments.
Cavities are often the most common dental issue we see in the office, and we offer dental restorations (fillings) to address this problem. If the sight, sound, or thought of the “drill” is too uncomfortable for you, at Olivieri Dental Care in Hamilton, we do provide a drill-less technique to accommodate your needs in appropriate cases.
What is right for you? There are a number of factors that influence the performance, durability, longevity, and expense of dental restorations. The ultimate decision about what to use is best determined in consultation with the doctor. Dental restorations that we offer include:
White fillings are the more common dental restoration used today. They are made with resins and acrylic/ceramic particles that mimic the colour of natural teeth, making your fillings blend in with the rest of your smile.
A crown (or “cap”) is an artificial covering that fits over a single cracked, chipped, discoloured, worn-down, or severely weakened tooth to restore it to its normal (or desired) shape, size, and colour. Crowns come in a variety of types, from porcelain-fused-to-metal to all-ceramic to full-gold, and the use of any particular one will be discussed with your needs in mind
Oral Surgery
At Olivieri Dental Care, one of our goals is to help you keep your teeth for a lifetime. In some cases when a tooth is severely broken down, decayed, abscessed, or compromises the health of the adjacent teeth, sometimes the only acceptable solution to the problem is to remove the tooth, and where necessary replace it. We strive to make this as comfortable as possible for you. If you have any concerns or preferences for sedation, please share this with us. Oral Surgery procedures that we provide include:
- Teeth extraction
- “Wisdom tooth” extraction
- Minor recontouring of the jaw
- Minor bone grafting
